What is EasyScan?

EasyScan is a simple-to-use, multi-feature inventory management system designed directly for your Shopify store. It helps you streamline order fulfilment, stocktakes, and bin management using barcode scanners.

My scanner is not working. Is it compatible with EasyScan?

Yes, the vast majority of USB and Bluetooth scanners are fully compatible because EasyScan recognises them as keyboard inputs. You can perform a quick 60-second test to verify if your scanner is working properly:

  1. Connect your scanner to your computer or tablet. Open any basic text program like Notepad, TextEdit, or Microsoft Word.

  2. Click your cursor into the empty text area so you see a blinking line, just like you are about to type a sentence.

  3. Scan any standard retail item nearby.

  • If numbers or letters instantly appear on your screen: Your scanner is working perfectly and is 100% compatible with EasyScan.

  • If nothing happens: Double-check your hardware connections or ensure the scanner isn't accidentally paired to a different nearby device via Bluetooth.

I have to press return everytime my scanner scans?

Review your scanners manual. Most scanners have configurable settings, and one of these settings is to enable "return" after each input. Once enabled, the scanner should automatically return and scan the item in EasyScan.

I am scanning items, but they aren't appearing in the app. What should I do?

This is almost always a focus issue. Before you begin scanning, ensure your mouse cursor is active inside the primary input field. Look for the large text field in the center of the app labeled "Barcode/SKU" and make sure you see a blinking cursor inside it before pulling the scanner trigger.

Do you offer a public API or Webhooks?

We do not currently offer a public API or webhook subscriptions for EasyScan events. However, we are always looking to expand our developer features based on merchant needs! If your business requires a public API or real-time webhooks for custom external integrations, please get in touch with our team and let us know your exact technical use case.

How do I cancel my EasyScan subscription?

To cancel your subscription, simply uninstall EasyScan from your Shopify Admin dashboard under Apps and Sales Channels. Once uninstalled, Shopify will automatically halt any future billing cycles.

⚠️ Note on Billing: EasyScan is billed through Shopify on a rolling 30-day basis after your initial 10-day free trial period ends.
