What is EasyScan?
EasyScan is a simple-to-use, multi-feature inventory management system designed directly for your Shopify store. It helps you streamline order fulfilment, stocktakes, and bin management using barcode scanners.
My scanner is not working. Is it compatible with EasyScan?
Yes, the vast majority of USB and Bluetooth scanners are fully compatible because EasyScan recognises them as keyboard inputs. You can perform a quick 60-second test to verify if your scanner is working properly:
Connect your scanner to your computer or tablet. Open any basic text program like Notepad, TextEdit, or Microsoft Word.
Click your cursor into the empty text area so you see a blinking line, just like you are about to type a sentence.
Scan any standard retail item nearby.
My scanner types into a text editor. Is it ready? This confirms that keyboard input works. Check that it sends the complete code and an Enter suffix, then scan a product in EasyScan to confirm that it matches the correct Shopify variant.
If nothing happens: Double-check your hardware connections or ensure the scanner isn't accidentally paired to a different nearby device via Bluetooth.
I have to press return everytime my scanner scans?
Review your scanners manual. Most scanners have configurable settings, and one of these settings is to enable "return" after each input. Once enabled, the scanner should automatically return and scan the item in EasyScan.
I am scanning items, but they aren't appearing in the app. What should I do?
This is almost always a focus issue. Before you begin scanning, ensure your mouse cursor is active inside the primary input field. Look for the large text field in the center of the app labeled "Barcode/SKU" and make sure you see a blinking cursor inside it before pulling the scanner trigger.
Do you offer a public API or webhooks? EasyScan does not offer a general public API or direct webhook subscriptions. You can use EasyScan’s Shopify Flow triggers to automate supported order and purchase-order events, including passing data to another system through a suitable Flow action.
How do I cancel, and how am I billed? Uninstall EasyScan from Apps in your Shopify admin to stop future subscription renewals. EasyScan offers monthly and annual billing through Shopify; check your selected plan for the billing interval and trial end date. Uninstalling does not necessarily remove a charge already generated on your Shopify bill. See Shopify’s app billing guidance.
