EasyScan is built for the Shopify e-commerce platform. Using this app, you can;

Getting Started

Once you have installed the app, you will see it appear under the apps section of your Shopify admin portal. Go ahead and click on it to get started.

Testing Your Barcode Scanner

Most barcode scanners are compatible with EasyScan, but it’s always a good idea to test your scanner first.

Plug the scanner into your computer, or connect it via Bluetooth.

Now open a text editor, such as Notepad, TextEdit, or even Microsoft Word or Excel.

Type a line into the editor, and press enter. Now scan a barcode using the scanner. You should see the string of digits represented by the barcode appear on the screen.

If you can’t see a string of digits, you scanner may not be connected properly, or there may be an issue with it. If possible, try the same process with another scanner or connected to another deivce.

Scanning with a Mobile Device

You can also use the camera on most mobile devices, such as iPads or iPhones, to scan barcodes. To use this feature, open EasyScan via the Shopify Mobile App on your device. You will find EasyScan under "Store" then "Apps".

From the EasyScan dashboard select the feature you want to use. Then press the barcode symbol next to the input box to start scanning with your device.

Note, this functionality requires the following app versions to enable us to access your camera:

  • Shopify iOS v8.25.0 or above

  • Shopify Android v8.24.0 or above

  • Shopify Point of Sale iOS v5.32.0 or above

  • Shopify Point of Sale Android v3.25.0 or above
