What are bin locations?
Bin locations are also referred to as rack locations, and represent the position on a shelf, within a warehouse, where an item is located.
They can also be used to indicate where in your store or stock room an item is located.
Bin locations with EasyScan
EasyScan has the option to assign bin locations to your products through the use of Shopify's Metafields, don't worry its very easy to set up!
You can assign up to 10 products at a time to a bin location. But there is no limit to the total number of products that can be assigned to a single bin location.
You can set your bin locations at either a Product or Product Variant level, it is important to set this before you start.
How to assign bin locations with EasyScan
It is simple to assign bin locations to your products. Here I will explain the fastest way to add bin locations to your products.
Head to the Bin Locations page in the EasyScan app, quick link on the dashboard.
Scan your product barcode to add them or manually select with the product picker.
Continue to add up to 10 products at a time to a bin location.
Type in your bin location title in the "Bin location value" input.
Click "Set bin location" to save it to your products.
Edit bin locations
It's simple to edit bin locations. Add your products by either scanning or manually selecting them with the product picker. Then change the "Bin location value" and click "Set bin location". If any of your products have already got a bin location assigned the a modal will pop-up asking if you want to overwrite the bin information.
Show bin locations within EasyScan
Now you have set up your product bin locations you can view this information within EasyScan.
Head to settings and turn on "Show bin location" under 'Order fulfilment view' and 'Inventory products'. The product bin location will show as a blue badge when the product is scanned.
