Inventory count (previously Check inventory) compares counted quantities with Shopify at a selected location. Available on Standard and above. Older videos may use the previous name. Exported PDF reports are headed Inventory Count Log.
Open Inventory count and choose the location. Check whether you are comparing Available or On hand stock before counting.
Scan products, select them manually, load a collection, or use Import CSV while the list is empty. Review any unmatched products before continuing.
Count the physical units. Use the quantity-per-scan control for cases or batches. You can lock the list to prevent new products from being added accidentally.
Review the counted quantities and differences. Correct mistakes and save or export the report.
If you want to correct Shopify, review the discrepancy/after-check action and either save a draft update or apply the inventory update. Counting or printing a report alone is not an instruction to change Shopify stock.
Use On hand when counting all physical units, including stock committed to orders or marked unavailable. Available is only the stock free to sell.
