Update inventory

Import inventory counts from CSV

Last updated on 17 Sept, 2026

Available on Standard and above. Open Inventory count or Update inventory, select a location, and start with an empty working list.

  1. Choose Import CSV and download the sample template.

  2. Provide an SKU or Barcode identifier and a whole-number quantity. Preserve leading zeros in identifiers when editing the file in a spreadsheet.

  3. Upload a CSV of up to 12,500 rows / 2 MB and choose the matching identifier.

  4. Review matched, missing, ambiguous and duplicate rows. The count importer keeps the first occurrence of a repeated identifier; it does not use the PO importer’s duplicate-combine step.

  5. Add the matched rows, review the working list, then follow the page’s normal save/update workflow.

In Update inventory, Increment and Decrement treat the imported quantity as an adjustment; Set treats it as the target. In Inventory count, it is the counted quantity. Importing rows into the list does not itself apply stock changes.

This count importer is separate from the PO/product import tool that offers Variant ID matching. Use the template and options shown in the workflow you are actually using.
