Bundles.app integration with EasyScan

When you sell a bundle on Shopify (e.g., "Summer Essentials Kit"), it often exists as a single "Virtual Product." This creates a problem for warehouse staff: they see "Summer Essentials Kit" on the scanner, but they need to know to grab 1x Sunscreen and 1x Beach Towel.

The Bundles.app integration solves this by automatically "breaking open" the bundle in EasyScan, listing the individual components so your team can scan the actual physical items.

Part 1: Enabling the Integration

This is a two-way handshake. You must enable the connection in both apps for it to work.

Step 1: Enable in EasyScan

  1. Open EasyScan and go to Settings > General.

  2. Scroll down to the Integrations section.

  3. Find "Enable Bundles.app" and toggle it ON.

  4. Click Save Settings.

Step 2: Enable in Bundles.app

  1. Open Bundles.app in your Shopify Admin.

  2. Go to Settings > Integrations.

  3. Select EasyScan from the list.

  4. Toggle the setting to "Give EasyScan access to your bundles".

  5. Click Save.

Part 2: The Fulfillment Workflow

Once connected, EasyScan changes how it displays orders containing bundles.

1. The "Pick List" View When you generate a Pick List for a batch of orders:

  • Before Integration: You would see 1x Summer Kit.

  • After Integration: You will see the component parts: 1x Sunscreen and 1x Beach Towel.

  • Benefit: The picker knows exactly what to grab from the shelf without guessing.

2. The "Pack Order" Screen When the packer opens an order to fulfill it:

  1. EasyScan detects the Bundle SKU.

  2. It instantly "expands" the line item into its components.

  3. Action: The packer must scan the barcode of the Sunscreen and the Towel individually.

  4. Completion: The order will not be marked as "Packed" until all physical components are successfully scanned.

Part 3: Troubleshooting

"I enabled the integration, but I still see the Parent Bundle SKU."

  • New bundles: If you just created a new bundle, it will only work for new orders.

  • Check Bundle Type: Ensure the bundle is set up correctly in Bundles.app as a "Standard Bundle" (composed of variants) and not just a simple variant link.

"Can I print a label for the Bundle Parent?"

  • Generally, no. Since the Bundle Parent is a virtual item, you usually want to print labels for the components. However, if you pre-pack bundles (put them in a box and tape it shut), you should create a unique barcode for the Bundle Parent in Shopify and treat it as a standalone physical product in EasyScan, disabling the breakdown feature for that specific item.

"Does this affect my inventory counts?"

  • EasyScan fulfills the order in Shopify. Bundles.app is responsible for the inventory deduction logic (subtracting 1 Sunscreen and 1 Towel). EasyScan simply ensures the physical items are in the box before telling Shopify "This item is shipped."
